Unbound Magazine is the first magazine devoted to snowboarding at Mammoth Mountain and their ‘Unbound’ terrain park. The mag was designed for Mammoth Mountain via the prestigious Axis Media group with the intention of creating a single issue with such beautiful photography, design and paper quality that you’d want to keep it on the coffee table all season long.

Story highlights include a 30 page story entitled ‘The Year in Review’ which takes you through all the major competitions, team shoots and other events of the past 2009/2010 season. To assist in the chronological navigation of such a large story the year/season was plotted along a gradient of color, changing with the seasons and reflected in both the calendar dates, headers and body copy. Best of all was the excuse to create an info-graphic opener composed of concentric circles of data linking the events and time of year to snowfall amounts, base depth and total amount of days open to give the reader a feel for the actual conditions present during the featured event.
